Our plans for a flourishing Research Trust (Sarvari Research Trust) and a profitable trading company  (Sarpo Potatoes Ltd) are simple and clear!  We want to maximise both production, sales and profitability of Sarpo Potatoes Ltd so that the research trust can continue its valuable work in these three key areas

• Continue breeding work on late blight resistant potatoes that meet the needs of consumers and growers
• Campaign for sustainable potato production across the world
• Provide our varieties free of charge to developing areas of the world where the potato is a staple crop and suffers from blight and other issues but do not have the wish or capability to manage those crops traditionally.

The way we plan to do this is to create a structure where the trust (SRT) wholly owns the trading company (SPL).  The trust will move to be a charity with the above aims enshrined.  Although  there will be some overlap of personnel between the two there will be a difference with the trust managing the pure seed stocks and the company overseeing the bulk production of seed.
